We’ve been feeling a little shut in and developed itchy feet otherwise known as “wanderlust” or the overpowering compulsion to travel.
If you want things to happen in life, you just need to take action; and that’s just what we did.
We googled our favourite airline sites and stumbled on a great flight to Rome.
We’d been to Italy before and fell in love with its culture and people but never had the chance to trek through the countryside in any great detail.
Hotel booking sites revealed some promising rates for the foreseeable future. If we backpack and picnic whenever possible, we figured we could stretch our travel dollar for 2 months!
It didn’t take long before we made arrangements for a lovely couple to take care of our home during our absence. They had lots of house sitting experience, great references and are well seasoned travelers; check out http://www.srilankaitinerary.com/.
They want to explore the Canadian West Coast and this will give them an opportunity to get to know Vancouver Island and to explore its numerous seaside resorts as well as enjoy the countless outdoor activities.
Meanwhile, our plan is to make our way from Rome to the Amalfi Coast to take advantage of all of the hikes around Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri, and Vesuvius.
We’ll then make our way to The Ligurian Coastline where we’ll hike the Ligurian Riviera Towns from Camogli to Levanto including the Cinque Terre, before we wind up in the Tuscan Hills.
Follow us on our journey as we explore tranquil coastal villages that cling to rugged coastlines, experience the magnificent views from the Pathway of the Gods, and follow in the footsteps of the ancient Etruscans…one step at a time. Next post: Rome
